Virtual Card Issuing API
for Startups in Malaysia

Startups in Malaysia building fintech, payroll, travel or creator products need cards that work globally, and a programme they can launch without a bank partnership or a compliance team. From pilot to launch in Malaysia

A path most teams follow: prove the card with your own team, then open it to users.

  1. Apply and pass KYB

Apply for a merchant account and verify your business. API keys are issued once you are approved.

  2. Fund a small pilot

Put only what the pilot needs into your business USD wallet. Fees are per card and per funding.

  3. Issue cards to your own team

Make real purchases, watch the webhooks arrive and wire them into your ledger.

  4. Open to your first users

Each user passes an ID and selfie check, then gets a card inside your product.

  5. Grow from the same account

Issue more cards, add team members to the dashboard and rotate keys as you scale.

Why startups in Malaysia build on Eisy

  • •Ship a card feature for users in Malaysia without negotiating a bank sponsorship or standing up a card programme yourself.
  • •Start small: fund a single business USD wallet, issue cards as you grow, and pay per card and per funding rather than a platform fee up front.
  • •Compliance is handled: every card holder completes an ID and selfie check before a card is issued.
  • •Build on events, not polling: signed webhooks for issuance, funding, authorisations, settlements, declines, refunds and terminations.

Where cards are used in Malaysia

International services Eisy card users in Malaysia pay for. Cards you issue through the API work on the same Visa and Mastercard networks.

MYR

Prices in Malaysia are in Malaysian ringgit (MYR); cards issued through Eisy hold US dollars. Merchants that charge in USD are paid directly, and charges in MYR or another currency are converted to USD by the card network.

FAQs for startups

1

Who can use the Eisy card API in Malaysia?

Registered startups in Malaysia and elsewhere. You apply for a merchant (business) account, complete business verification (KYB), and your account is reviewed before API keys are issued.

2

Which card networks and currency are supported?

Visa and Mastercard virtual cards denominated in US dollars. Every card is funded from your business USD wallet.

3

Do card holders need to verify their identity?

Yes. Each card holder completes a quick ID and selfie check before cards can be issued to them. You can run this from your dashboard or through the API.

4

How do I know when a card is used?

Webhooks. You receive signed events when a card is issued, funded, authorised, settled, declined, reversed, refunded, blocked or terminated, with automatic retries if your endpoint is down.

5

What does it cost?

Pricing is set per business: a card creation fee, a funding fee (flat or percentage), and termination and decline fees. The fees for your account are shown in your merchant dashboard and before every action you confirm.

6

Is there a minimum volume to start?

No. Fund your business wallet with what you need and issue your first cards. Fees are charged per card and per funding, so a small pilot costs little.

7

Can the cards pay merchants that charge in MYR?

Yes. The cards hold US dollars, and when a merchant charges in Malaysian ringgit (MYR) or any other currency, Visa or Mastercard converts the amount to USD at the time of the transaction.
